Meet the team: Randall Collins

Raised in West Wyalong in country New South Wales, Randall Collins commenced his career with A&G Engineering as an apprentice fitter and turner in February 1996. This was a four-year programme with 3-years at TAFE and 1-year on-the-job training.

After becoming trade qualified, Randall moved to the A&G drafting office where he spent another 4-years before accepting a sales engineer role at Angaston, South Australia in 2004.

A&G’s business in Angaston was dominated by wine industry clients and Randall became heavily engaged in operations which positioned him for his next move – to A&G’s head office in Griffith, in a business development role, with clients across multiple industries in SA, VIC and NSW.

Having just celebrated 25 years of service with A&G, Randall has experienced a great deal of change with boom-and-bust cycles and industry ups and downs. ‘One thing that has not changed is the A&G culture – it’s a family run business with genuine family values. It’s very inclusive – they look out for us and we look out for each other’ said Randall.

‘I’m grateful to have been given so many opportunities for personal growth, but there’s a lot of people like me at A&G. If you are reliable, trustworthy and hard-working, you’ll be seen and recognised. A&G has always been a business where they prefer to promote from within, and management are always alert to opportunities for progression. If you bring the right mindset and attitude, they’ll create the opportunities for you and teach you the skills you need to be successful.’

‘I think A&G have been very forward-looking in terms of technology, and the combination of equipment, expertise and A&G’s culture has put us in a very strong position. We’re consolidating our position in key markets as well as diversifying into new markets, and the outlook is very positive’.
