Welding Inspector – QA & QC

A&G Engineering is seeking an experienced Internal Welding Inspector / QA & QC to join our manufacturing team in Griffith, NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about welding quality, compliance, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise welding activities and ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), relevant standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct daily welding inspections and quality audits in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Verify compliance with applicable Australian Standards, welding codes and customer requirements.
  • Review welding documentation, inspection reports, material certificates and quality records.
  • Maintain welder qualification records and coordinate qualification testing to meet project requirements.
  • Inspect incoming materials and verify compliance against delivery documentation and Material Test Certificates (MTCs).
  • Maintain welding traceability records and quality documentation throughout each project.
  • Ensure WPSs, Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), Welder Qualification Records (WQRs) and associated documentation remain current and compliant.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Supervisors and Production teams to achieve safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes.
  • Procure project-related materials and components and prepare internal material requisitions as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Trade qualification in Welding, Fabrication or a related engineering discipline (preferred).
  • Must be Australian citizens/Permanent residents.
  • Minimum qualification: Diploma – International Welding Inspector (IWI-B).
  • Demonstrated experience in a Welding Inspection and/or QA/QC role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, Australian Standards, welding codes and quality management systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Strong computer skills, including ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach with a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
