About the Program

After initial induction and training, Apprentices move to our workshop and work under the guidance of experienced employees and our workshop foreman.

A&G has its own in-house training and classroom facilities. Formal training is provided by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and follows a curriculum directed at providing both general trade experience as well as experience that is specific to the A&G business.

In addition, A&G has a dedicated Apprentice Mentor to advise, guide and support our Apprentices, and help them develop personally and professionally.

The size and scale of the A&G business means that Apprentices are rotated through different workshops during the program and can expect to work in a stainless-steel fabrication workshop, a mild / structural steel workshop, a tank workshop and a precision manufacturing workshop. This enables our Apprentices to find niches that best suit their interests and capabilities.

“Moving between different workshops gives you fantastic exposure to different parts of the business and everyone is so willing to share their knowledge with you” Tommy – A&G Apprentice

Many of our Apprentices also experience on-site work on large-scale installations all over the country that may range in duration from 2 days to 2 months, where they gain valuable experience interacting with customers and troubleshooting on site.

“I loved the opportunity in the Barossa Valley especially because I hadn’t been to South Australia and the onsite experience was amazing. I got to meet new people and the responsibility onsite was challenging yet rewarding” Cameron – A&G Apprentice

Future Opportunities

A&G relies on its Apprenticeship program for its next generation of tradesmen, project managers, estimators, workshop foremen and business development resources. Employees that complete Apprenticeships typically go on to enjoy long and rewarding careers with A&G.

If you are a hard worker this is a good opportunity for you. A&G is a reputable company with a diverse range of work opportunities” Cameron – A&G Apprentice

We have a great reputation as a business and that starts with hiring the right people and delivering an outstanding Apprenticeship experience.
